About Caribbean Bottling Company Co. Ltd.
Caribbean Bottling Company Co. Ltd. started its operations on August 14, 1948 at Riffort, Curaçao Netherlands Antilles. Back then, it bottled only Pepsi and its local brand "Lucky Hit". In 1975, the plant was relocated to its present base at Zeelandia in response to popular demand: the Curaçao market loved the particular Pepsi taste and the company had to expand its productive capacity. On the new site Caribbean Bottling Company was able to bottle Pepsi, Mirinda, 7-Up and their own brand Lucky Hit. In 1986, "POP" was launched in half liter glass bottles and this product proved to be a smash hit. Sales went booming because this was a line of carbonated soft drink with an exotic ring to it; Tamarind, Watermelon, Peach, Passion Fruit, Pear, all kinds of new flavors were introduced. "POP" became known as the ½ liter bottle because of its convenient and popular size, rather than the brand awareness, but it established a firm position for the Caribbean Bottling Company. Shortly after, Caribbean Bottling Company initiated sales of their wide variety of soft drinks in 1 liter as well as in 2 liter PET bottles, which are ideal sizes for families. Another Company division of Caribbean Bottling would prove to be very popular in the hospitality industry: post mix. Because of its high profit, low cost value this department took off and started replacing the 10oz glass bottle, which was the most attractive to the industry up to that point. After being pioneer in the field of ½ liter "POP" bottles, Caribbean Bottling Company was the first to introduce "full service Vending" in 1990, which ignited another success story. Vending machines were placed on prime locations all over the island. Full service means having a salestruck on route every day for refills and technical support. In 1999 the Caribbean Bottling Co. LTD started to produce local favorite flavors in 16oz plastic bottles and called it "Dòbel Shòt" Double the value for a low price."Dòbel Shòt" became very popular in a short period of time and because of it's success, it's also available in vending machines.
